Here are my list of vaginal itching remedies that are easily available in every home.
Some are found through my research while some are tried and tested native herbal washes/home remedies gathered from friends and relatives.
From The Refrigerator
Cold wash compress and ice packs are my “go to” remedies for soothing genital itch or burning. Place them on the intimate area for about 20 minutes for instant relief.
Have a cup of buttermilk or plain yogurt daily to maintain optimum vaginal health. Both of these cultured dairy products are good external vaginal itching remedies as well.
To provide instant relief for genital itch apply them directly to the vaginal area and rinse off with cool water after 15 minutes.
Or you can insert a tampon smeared with yoghurt into the vagina to soothe the irritation. Wait for about 15 minutes before removing the tampon and rinse the vulva with cool water.
From the Kitchen
Garlic is a powerful antifungal herb. Eating garlic continuously for 3 to 4 days will lessen vagina itch. “Eaaw, garlic is disgusting.” I know. But it is delicious when roasted.
How to Roast Garlic:-
Apple Cider Vinegar
Create a douche by adding 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar to 2 cups of water to
provide relief for the itching and stinging sensation.
Saline sitz bath
Dissolve 1/2 a cup
of table salt in a shallow tub of water. While sitting in the tub, insert your
finger into your vagina to let the salt water in. Remove your finger and relax
for 10-15 minutes. Having this sitz bath continuously for 2 to 3 nights should
ease the vaginal itching and irritation.
Create a douche by adding 1 teaspoon licorice powder to 1 pint (475ml) water. Steep the mixture for 20 minutes. Cool and use as a douche.
Herbal Solution - Kacip Fatimah
Kacip Fatimah is a herb well-known in eastern cultures for its natural antiseptic and astringent properties. Formulated together with manjakani into a soap-free feminine wash, it helps prevent vaginal itching and discharge as well as tone and tighten the vagina.
Based on feed backs from my website visitors and customers who frequent my boutique style shop in Ipoh, these tired and tested herbal and home-based vaginal itching remedies show results within 5 days.
However, if vagina itching does not subside after 5 days, please see a doctor.Back to top
