My strategy of using natural remedies for vaginal dryness are found in my diet, lifestyle changes, vaginal exercises and supplementing with manjakani tonic pills. In my late fifties now, menopause vagina dryness has not been an issue for me.

With a little bit of fantasy and eroticism  vaginal lubrication still flows easily.

And love making is lusciously satisfying and pleasurable with the application of Manjankani Intimate Gel.

My List Of Natural Remedies For Vaginal Dryness

Diet (The Anti-Oxidant Vitamins-ACE)

Most of these vitamins can be easily obtained by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables.

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin. Its functions are:-

  • Helps to maintain healthy skin, teeth, skeletal and soft tissue, and mucus membrane (including the mucus membrane and lining of the vagina).
  •  Guard against bacterial, viral and parasitic infections (think  bacterial vaginosis and yeast infection)
  •  Acts as an anti–oxidant to protect our cells against cancer and disease.
  •  Slows down the aging process by improving the overall skin condition.

Natural Vitamin A comes in two forms- retinol and beta-carotene.

Retinol is from animal sources – liver, eggs, cod liver oil and dairy products.

Beta-carotene is found in brightly colored fruits and vegetables. The brighter the color the more beta-carotene it contains. These are:-

  1. Bright yellow and orange fruits (apricots, pink grapefruit), carrots, pumpkins, tomatoes, sweet potatoes.
  2. Most dark, green leafy vegetables – spinach, kale , broccoli.

Vitamin C(L-ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin. Other than keeping the common cold away, Vitamin C is:-

  • An anti-oxidant which fights free radicals that occurs naturally in our body throughout our lives.
  • Involved in the synthesis of female sex hormones and collagen. Collagen keeps the skin elastic, supple and firm, hence lessening the occurrence of vaginal atrophy.

Foods rich in Vitamin C:-

  1. Citrus fruits – oranges, lemons, tangerines.
  2. Cruciferous vegetables – broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage
  3. Herbs – Thyme and Parsley.
  4. Strawberries, kiwi fruits, papaya, red and green peppers.

Vitamin E is the most important fat-soluble vitamin.

  • It protects artery walls and keeps the “bad” low density lipoproteins (LDL) cholesterol from being oxidized. LDL cholesterol oxidation marks the beginning of clogged arteries.
  • Keeps the blood thin by preventing platelets from clumping together, thus protect against stroke and heart attack.
  • Reduces hot flashes and other symptoms of menopause and the oil in Vitamin E soft gels can be used as a vaginal moisturizer.
  • Hastens wound healing and minimize inflammation.

Sources of Vitamin E:-

  1. Green, leafy vegetables – Mustard greens, swiss chards, collard greens, spinach, water cress.
  2. Nuts and seeds – sunflower seeds, almond, hazelnuts, walnuts, pine nuts, wheat germ, peanuts.
  3. Herbs – basil and oregano.
  4. Fruits – blackberries, blueberries, mangoes, avocados.
  5. Oils – Olive, sunflower, corn, soya
  6. Fish – mackerel, salmon.

Zinc - Other than the above ACE Vitamins, zinc is an important mineral in my list of natural remedies for vaginal dryness. It is required for :

  • Synthesis of protein and collagen - which is great for wound healing and healthy skin.
  • Regulating the menstrual cycle.
  • Reproductive health in women and prostrate health in men.
  • Boosting the body’s immune function to fight against colds and sore throats and damaging free radicals that are naturally present in our body.
  • Protecting against toxic effects of chemical exposure.

Foods high in zinc aka Aphrodisiac (Sexy Foods)

  • Oysters
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Almond
  • Ginger

Oysters is a well-known aphrodisiac. The shellfish contains D-aspartic acid and NMDA which are powerful chemicals that trigger the release of sex hormones. They also contain a lot of zinc which increases sperm count.

Pumpkin seeds, almond and ginger are also thought to have aphrodisiac qualities. Pumpkin seeds contain magnesium, which help the body muscles to relax, a necessary condition for arousal and orgasm.

Almonds are a good source of Vitamin E which boosts blood flow in the body, including to the sex organs.

Ginger has the same qualities as almonds while also containing Vitamin C, zinc and magnesium.

Lifestyle Changes

Other than balanced nutrition, living a healthy and stress-free life and having adequate sleep are essential natural remedies for vaginal dryness too.

If you are a smoker, do consider reducing the number of cigarettes you are smoking or kicking the habit altogether. Smoking impairs blood circulation. Decrease in blood flow deprives the vaginal tissues of adequate oxygen which lead to vaginal dryness and atrophy.

Besides helping in vaginal wetness, these natural remedies for vaginal dryness will improve your overall health as well.

Having said that, the mind can be the biggest stumbling block to achieving arousal and orgasm.

So let go of all your hang-ups and worries. There's no room for them in bed. Just relax and enjoy the moment!
